OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2011. The Bank of East Asia (“BEA”) would like to inform all customers and the general public that the BEA Group has no affiliation whatsoever with an interactive voice response system (“IVRS”) alleged to be operated by BEA with the phone number 3071 7735, reported the press-centre of BEA.

The IVRS asks callers to input their account numbers and personal identification numbers for enquiries or services.

BEA has reported the existence of this phone number and the IVRS to the police and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and will take any action that may be appropriate to protect the reputation of the Bank and the interests of its customers and the general public.

If any customers or members of the public have provided any information to the fraudulent IVRS, they should contact the police or call the BEA Customer Services Hotline on 2211 1333 for immediate assistance.
