OREANDA-NEWS. October 10, 2011. Automatic inside and outside girth seam welding systems were installed, started up and adjusted at a tank frames assembly and welding line of NEFAZ, a subsidiary of KAMAZ in Bashkortostan.

The reconstruction of the oil-loading trucks production shop is one of the most important investment projects developed and implemented with the support of the German leading companies: Grimm Schweisstechnik, DEUMA, CLOOS, and Hayes. The production shop consists of two complexes of automatic inside girth seam welding and one complex of automatic outside girth seam welding. The rated welding speed ranges from 0.4 to 0.9 m/min. At the same time, stable geometry and high quality of girth seams are ensured. The welding process is controlled with the help of a high-precision and adaptive laser equipment. The output of the new welding line is up to 2.5 thousand tanks a year, it will be applied in the Russian machine building industry for the first time.

Increasing the quality of the tank welding process, the new automatic line also helps improve the welders’ working conditions. They become the automatic lines operators who can program and visually control the process. All aerosols from the welding zone pass through special Kemper filters which reduce the emission of harmful substances into the environment to 95%.

To date, NEFAZ takes about 35% of Russia`s oil-loading truck market. According to experts, the introduction of the new automatic line will increase NEFAZ’s competitiveness.
