OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2011. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Argentina have conducted political consultations for the first time.

The Azerbaijani Ministry reports that the delegation of the Azerbaijani side was headed by Khalaf Khalafov and the delegation of the Argentine side by Norma Nascimbene de Dumont, sub-secretary for foreign affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade & Culture.

The parties stressed availability of potential for development of bilateral relationships in various spheres, in particular in the field of politics, economy, trade and humanitarian spheres.

During the consultations the sides stressed a large role in the development of bilateral relationships of mutual high-level visits and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and cooperation within international organizations.

Khalafov stressed the importance of deepening existing ties between Azerbaijan and Argentina and stated of the need to foster inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Norma Nascimbene de Dumont, in turn, appraised high the current potential and jointly implemented large-scale projects and announced her country’s interest in diversifying country’s links with Azerbaijan.

The parties also touched the issues of further activity on expansion of the legal framework between both countries.
