OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2011. Moldovan government's Secretary-General Victor Bodiu participated in the inauguration of an assistance project financed by the European Union, the government's communication and press relations department has said.

The project "Technical Assistance for the support provided to the Moldovan government in building the implementation capacities of the TWINNING, TAIEX, SIGMA tools meant to back the preparation and implementation of the Comprehensive Institution Building Programme (CIB)," will be implemented by Hulla & Co Human Dynamics KG.

Moldovan government's Secretary-General Victor Bodiu said that proceeding from the Moldovan government's priorities, the overwhelming majority of the central public authorities are actively engaged in talks on an association agreement, on a deep and comprehensive free trade area agreement, as well as on an action plan for the liberalization of the visa regime with the EU. He added that the new stage in the Moldovan-EU relations implies huge responsibility and the implementation of many reforms.

"The project is meant to assist the State Chancellery, as a coordinator of the TWINNING, TAIEX, SIGMA programmes, in order to enhance the management capacities and efficiency of the use of foreign assistance. At the same time, high attention should be paid to the consolidation of the public authorities in charge of the implementation of the Comprehensive Institution Building Programme," Bodiu said.

The government's secretary-general urged each authority to actively participate in the project's implementation, in order to subsequently launch similar projects in each institution.

Attending the event, the head of the EU's delegation to Moldova, Ambassador Dirk Schuebel said that in the past years, several EU-financed assistance projects have been launched in Moldova in order to implement the reform agenda.

The project launched today is scheduled for 24 months and has three stages: initiation, implementation and completion.
