OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2011. Russia and Romania are Moldova's main trade partners, as their trade share was on the rise during the first eight months of 2011, according to data by the National Statistics Bureau (BNS).

Moldova's exports to Russia went up from 24.6 per cent in January-August 2010 to 27.6 per cent in the first eight months of 2011, and imports grew from 14.7 to 14.9 per cent. Romania's quota in Moldova's foreign trade rose as well from 16.4 to 18.2 per cent in terms of exports and from 10.1 to 11.5 per cent for imports.

In the first eight months of 2011, Moldova exported goods worth 377 million dollars to the Russian market, and imported goods amounting to 487.7 million dollars. The exports to Romania stood at 249.1 million dollars, while the imports reached 370.1 million dollars.
