OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2011. Within the next years the Belarusian agricultural industry is to achieve a profitability between 12 to 13 percent, said President Alexander Lukashenko during his tour of Minsk Region.

According to the President, there is a need to raise not only gross production in agriculture but also the return on sales of agricultural produce. "Today we can speak about achieving a 10 percent profitability; 12 to 13 percent is a dream which should be made real within the next 2 to 3 years," said President Alexander Lukashenko. "Next year we should manage to attain a 10 percent rise; 11 percent would be quite good in terms of profitability."

Boris Batura, chairman of Minsk Region Executive Committee, has proposed to introduce a strict procedure to account for all expenses in the agricultural industry, because different approaches are applied at the moment. "This step will not bring more money, but it will certainly improve the accounting by making it more objective," he said. "OK, let us do it during this winter," said Alexander Lukashenko.

The President has once again paid attention to the need to ensure the due conditions for the storage of harvested grain.
