OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2011. Belarus’ Finance Ministry has posted a republican budget surplus of 1.3 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) (U.S. USD 232.2 million at the NBB rate) in January-August 2011, or 0.9% of GDP, an official with the Finance Ministry told reporters Thursday.

The republican budget indicates spending and revenues of the central administration, whereas the consolidated budget also includes local budgets.

Republican budget revenues amounted to 27.2 trillion rubles in January-August, or 80.8% of the target for the whole year.

Revenues from foreign economic activities amounted to 8.02 trillion rubles, 110.4% of the target, from the profit tax 1.5 trillion rubles, 64.3% of the target, from the value-added tax 9.7 trillion rubles, 72.3% of the target.

Republican budget expenditures reached 25.8 trillion rubles, 64% of the target for 2011.

Expenditures on welfare, science, culture, healthcare, mass media, sports, education, etc. amounted to 5.6 trillion rubles, 63% of the target for 2011, national economy expenditures were at 4.5 trillion rubles, 57.8% of the target, and general state expenditures at 12.1 trillion rubles, 68.8% of the target.

Republican budget revenues are projected at 33.612 trillion rubles, and expenditures at 40.179 trillion rubles. Budget deficit is expected at or below 6.567 trillion rubles.
