OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2011. Ukraine and the Republic of Greece will study feasibility of opening a new route for regular traffic of Lviv-Athens. For liberalization of transportations of passengers and within the frameworks of preparation for European Football Championship in 2012 within 60 calendar days the sides will be issuing the relevant permits for upkeep for regular service route of Lviv-Athens.

Currently, between Ukraine and Greece there are two acting routes of the regular bus service: Kyiv- Athens and Donetsk- Athens. The validity of permits for the maintenance of regular bus route Kyiv- Athens ending 31 December 2011. Therefore, the parties have agreed to consider the extension of permits in accordance with current national legislation of Ukraine and Greece.

Moreover, if the carriers have expressed a wish, - Ukraine and the Greek Republic will consider a capability of modification of the traffic schedule of a route of the regular bus service of Kyiv- Athens with intersection of the Ukrainian-Romanian boundary through a check point of the Reni – Dzhurdzhyulesht.
