OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2011. Electricity production from renewable sources will be increased 5 times next year. This forecast was voiced by the Chairman of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation Mykola Pashkevych during the press conference which have taken place within the frameworks of the 3rd International Forum on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

"Today the industry of renewable energy in Ukraine is on the rise. If in 2010 we have produced, without counting large hydrogenation, about 240 million kilowatt-hours of the electric power, then this year we expect 360 million already, and for the next year we plan 1.017 billion kilowatt-hours. That is, almost fivefold growth for two years," it was reported by Mykola Pashkevych.

Also the Chairman of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency has told that in 2016 the expected share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources will amount to 12-13 % of the total amount. Renewable energy sources would give the country 9 billion kWh of electricity.
