OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2011. The greatest salary in Ukraine is at representatives of the banking sector, machinery engineering (in particular aircraft construction) and petroleum refining industry. This was announced by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine Vadym Pishcheyko at a news briefing. There are lowest wages in agricultural industry and budgetary sphere.

According to the State Statistics Service, the monthly average nominal salary of the permanent member of staff for January-August 2011 has amounted to 2550 UAH that 2.7 times above level of a minimum salary. In comparison with the appropriate period of 2010 the salary was increased by 18.1 %. The growth of nominal wages during January-August was observed monthly, index reduction in August compared with July is the seasonal phenomenon.

The highest salary (at 3,5-52,1% higher than average) in January-August of this year was received by workers of the enterprises of Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as regions where the enterprises of mining and smelting complex are concentrated: Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhia regions. The lowest indexes (in 24,3-29,1% lower than average level) were in the Ternopil, Kherson, Chernivtsy, Chernihiv and Volyn regions.

The index of a real salary for 8 months of this year in comparison with the corresponding period of 2010 has amounted to 107.7%.
