OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2011. Belarus is prepared to develop active interaction with Ecuador by analogy with Belarusian-Venezuelan cooperation, said President Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration of Ecuador, Ricardo Patino.

"We are prepared for an active dialogue to develop cooperation. We have absolutely no limitations and closed topics," said the Head of State.

Belarus has a good example of cooperation with Venezuela, he said. "We can easily use this example in the development of our relations with Ecuador," said Alexander Lukashenko. "If it is necessary, I have a certain agreement with Hugo Chavez that makes it possible for us to build our relations on a tri-partite basis, through Venezuela. We can also build them on a bilateral basis, directly. It is up to you to decide – any option is acceptable for us," he said.

Preparing for the meeting, he added, he was pleased to see that Belarus and Ecuador had already had a good history of relations with the growing level of commerce which in 2010 almost reached 40 million US dollars. "It means we have contacts and hands-on experience of cooperation. So let us apply these things to other areas and progress there too," the Belarusian Leader said.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration of Ecuador, Ricardo Patino, conveyed to Alexander Lukashenko regards from the President of Ecuador and confirmed the invitation to Alexander Lukashenko to visit Ecuador when he finds it convenient for him.
