OREANDA-NEWS. October 21, 2011. Uzbekenergo state joint stock company is planning to construct Nijnechatkal hydrop power station at Chatqal river in Tashkent region, EnergoNews reported quoting source in the Uzbek company.

The cost of the project is US5.5 million. Source said that the company will complete preliminary feasibility study till the end of 2011 and in the first half of 2012, it will start general construction works at the object.

Till the end of 2012, it is planned to announce tender for purchase of necessary technological equipment for construction of the station.

The station capacity, in line with the preliminary calculations, will make up 100 megawatt. The station will produce 359 million kilowatt-hour a year and it will constructed with use of natural water flow.

The project will be financed due to loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, own resources of Uzbekenergo and loans of the Uzbek banks.
