At the present time the Milipol exhibition is seen as one of the largest venues in the world for exhibiting special equipment designed to fight criminality, terrorism, contraband, illegal drug trafficking and other serious threats to state security. The exhibition has been held since 1984 and, according to its organisers, this year it will host more than 1,000 companies coming from 43 foreign countries.

"In recent years we have been seeing a steady growth in demand for special-purpose equipment made in Russia. Considering the ongoing regional instabilities, we expect this trend to continue", - said Valery Kharlamov, head of Rosoboronexport's delegation.

Rosoboronexport Company, the sole state arms trader entitled to export finished items produced by the Russian defence industry, is ready to satisfy all requirements of foreign customers for small arms, close combat weapons and ammunition intended for special operations units, as well as other special-purpose equipment and devices.

Russian-made infantry and special-purpose small arms firmly hold leading positions in the world market. At this exhibition Rosoboronexport will showcase the PSM, PMM and SR-1M pistols, Bizon-2-01 and SR-2M submachine guns, the new 100th series of the legendary Kalashnikov assault rifles, AM small-size assault rifle, AS special-purpose assault rifle, RPK-201, Pecheneg and Kord machine guns, SVD and VSS sniper rifles.

Visitors to the Rosoboronexport stand will also be able to familiarise themselves with other types of close combat weapons, such as the RPG-7V1, RGS-33 and AGS-30 grenade launchers, sights of various types and small arms ammunition.

At Milipol 2011 Rosoboronexport will present the equipment applicable to needs of multiple agencies. One of them is the Tigr all-terrain multi-purpose car which is heavily armoured yet highly mobile. It is being operated with success in Russia and other countries, after having passed tests in adverse conditions in humid tropical climate as well as in highland and desert environment.
