OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2011. RTSoft company held a field workshop on the site of the new Staff Training Center of JSC FGC UES branch - MES South (Zheleznovodsk).

The program of the field workshop included presentations on the following topics:

Technical solutions by RTSoft on developing relay protection and automation systems and experience of their implementation at the facilities of JSC FGC UES.

Technical solutions on developing automated technological process control systems, data collection and transmission systems, technical data collection and transmission systems and RTSoft advanced developments in this field.

The issues of implementation of IEC 61850 technology in the relay protection and automated systems and in technological process control systems by different vendors; approaches to the design and engineering; development prospects of IEC 61850 technology.

Innovative solutions by RTSoft (applied problems of vector measurements, control of energy clusters, simulators for operational staff).

Digital substation - challenges, global experience and technical solutions.

The issues related to the use of integrated automation testing system, which allows to significantly reduce labor costs and to reduce the error probability at commissioning and testing of relay protection and automation systems, caused particular interest among protection engineers.

Considering automation systems, such issues raised active discussion as the advanced features of automated technological process control systems (manual input of remote signals, output of affixations to be repaired and others); the implementation of those features in hardware and software complex SMART-SPRECON and their use at the operation of substation in different modes. The issues of the territorial energy clusters management and the prospect of transition to unstaffed substations were covered in detail.

For the MES South representatives the matter of top priority was the issue of developing simulator for operational staff meant for the substations of a new generation, equipped with advanced automated technological process control systems.

The participants of the workshop highlighted the importance of sharing relevant up-to-date information on advanced technical solutions while constituting technical requirements and development plans of the Unified national electric grid (UNEG) automation control systems.

RTSoft company thanks MES South leadership and specialists for the opportunity to conduct a workshop on the base of modern Staff Training Center and looks forward to further fruitful cooperation.
