OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2011. Hebei has edged closer to its goal for the tourism industry this year. During the first eight months of the year, the province grossed more than 83 billion yuan (USD 13 billion), an increase of 33 percent over the same period of last year, accounting for 84 percent of the total target.

During these months, nearly 82 billion yuan was generated from the domestic tourism, a surge of 32 percent year-on-year.

The province was visited by more than 640,000 foreigners, up 13 percent year-on-year. The number of Japanese tourists has declined 8.2 percent, while the maximum growth was created by French visitors.
