OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2011. The most important company development direction is exploration of a new East-Siberian oil-and-gas province, OJSC “Surgutneftegas” bases its work in the region through a complex approach to the solving of industrial and social problems.

In late 2012 the company plans to place into commissioning an airport at the Talakanskoye oil-gas condensate field.

The decision on the construction of the airport is due to the company urgency of carrying shift personnel and the need to reduce the costs on them.

The facility construction will greatly improve the procurement and passenger service of oil and gas production enterprises of Western Yakutia, as well as to establish a foundation base for the natural resources development which is associated with the prospects of the region development as a whole.

The project envisages the construction of a paved runway of reinforced concrete which is essential for its operation in the severe conditions. The runway, which is 3,100 meters will take aircrafts as TU-154, Boeing737-400, MIL-26E, as well as lower class aircrafts.

A group ramp includes a parking point for four aircrafts – two aircrafts of first class (TU-154, Boeing737-400), two aircrafts of AN-24 type and an existing helicopter deck. A building service and passenger capacity is 200 passengers per hour. It is also envisaged the construction of a fuel storage with the capacity of 600 cubic meters for the aviation fuel storage.

The project is implemented by the business units of OJSC “Surgutneftegas” with the engagement of four Russian and one foreign companies for carrying out special kinds of work. The project cost is approximately RUB 5.1 billion.

OJSC “Airport Surgut ” will be engaged as an operator of the airport service.

The construction of “Talakan” airport will accelerate the development of a transport network in Western Yakutia both for industrial and social purposes – transport service of local residents and also increase formation tempo of a new oil and gas production center in eastern Russia.
