OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2011. Jia Qinglin, Chairman of China's top political advisory body-China People's Political Consultative Conference ("CPPCC") made a special visit to the Piraeus Container Terminal project, which is operated by COSCO under a 35 years concession agreement with the Port of Piraeus Authority ("PPA"), reported the press-centre of COSCO.

During a meeting at the PCT office, Chairman Jia expressed his greetings to the hundreds of Chinese and local Greek staff members of PCT after he was briefed about the developments and outlook of the terminal project by Captain Xu Minjie, Executive Vice-president of COSCO Group. He also lauded the outstanding progress of PCT, saying that the COSCO-run PCT is a successful model of the win-win economic partnership between China and Greece.

The site visit was accompanied by the Chinese Ambassador to Greece H.E. Du Qiwen and eight ministerial officials from China who were on a three-nation official visit headed by Chairman Jia.  

Right after the meeting, Jia and his delegation also went to the site of the stevedoring operations of PCT where he interacted with the local workers.

The visit was also witnessed by COSCO Europe GmbH President Fu Haichao, COSCO Pacific Ltd Assistant Managing Director Qiu Jinguang, COSCO PCT Managing Director Fu Chengqiu and other representatives from the Executive Div and Transport Div of COSCO (Group) Company.
