OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2011. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Zafer Caglayan, Minister of State of the Republic of Turkey.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the guest congratulated the Turkmen leader on the 20th anniversary of independence of and conveyed the cordial greetings and the wishes of prosperity and wellbeing on behalf of President of Turkey Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Rejep Tayip Erdogan. Mr. Zafer Caglayan also heartily congratulated the leader of Turkmenistan on receiving the title of Hero of Turkmenistan and the high government awards

Greeting the distinguished guest, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan was always open for good neighbours and dependable partners whom it had time-tested and actively promoted relations with to meet and the tremendous potential for cooperation and new opportunities.

Underlining the keen interest of the official and business circles of Turkey in fostering further mutually advantageous cooperation with Turkmenistan that demonstrated the high pace of development in the economic, social and cultural spheres, Mr. Zafer Caglayan Turkey highly evaluated and welcomed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s progressive policy and constructive international initiatives aimed at strengthening global peace and security and addressing problems and challenges of modern times.

Highly evaluating the Turkmen leader’s contribution to stepping up intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish cooperation brought to a qualitatively new level in recent years, Mr. Zafer Caglayan informed of the decision of the Turkmenistan-Turkey Business Council to present the honorary award – the special prize for the Achievements over 20 Years of Independence to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Thanking for the high appreciation of his activity, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that he viewed this award as a sign of profound respect for the Turkmen people, another evidence for brotherly and friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey. The Turkmen leader said this event was the fact of recognition by the international community of the progress made by the country due to the ongoing large-scale reforms and the fruitful activity of our state at regional and international levels.

Congratulating the guests on the upcoming Republic Day of Turkey,

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the best wishes to President of Turkey Abdullah Gul noting that Turkmenistan intended to move further along the path of friendship and cooperation with the brotherly people of Turkey.

Upon concluding the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest expressed belief that relations of friendship and brotherhood between Turkmenistan and Turkey would remain unshakable and expressed the wishes of peace and prosperity to each other and the two peoples.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Shevki Mutevellioglu attended the meeting.
