OREANDA-NEWS. November 01, 2011. TNK-BP held a regular meeting of its Central Conflict Commission. The Commission reviewed 3 appeals fr om contractors concerning the procedures for conducting tenders announced by Company subsidiaries in the Central Federal District. In two of the three cases the Commission found in favour of the suppliers and contractors, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

TNK-BP’s conflict commissions were set up to settle disputes and review complaints from TNK-BP’s suppliers and contractors on the prequalification process, contractor selection, and appeals from contractors who have been disqualified. Since their inception in December 2010, the commissions have reviewed a total of 53 complaints. In 25 cases, the contractors’ complaints were found to be justified and the appropriate corrective actions were taken, including reviews of tender outcomes or repeat tendering. The conflict commissions are guided in their deliberations by the Regulations on the Regional Councils and Conflict Commissions, and the Company’s contracting procedures.

Andrey Kozlov, TNK-BP Vice President, Regional Policy and Chairman of the Central Conflict Commission, explained that the commissions operate in the Company’s key regions, meeting at least once every month and sometimes also holding unscheduled sessions. “Our goal is to analyze decisions previously taken by managers, buyers and procurement advisory bodies wh ere there are doubts on the part of our partners, and to find and rectify any mistakes that have occurred”, he stressed. “This enables the Company to optimize the way it works with its partners and ensure greater transparency, thereby strengthening the business’s bottom line and performance.”
