OREANDA-NEWS. November 2, 2011. US stocks fell on Tuesday with Financials (-4.64%) and Industrials (-3.32%) as the leaders. S&P 500 index declined 2.79%, Russell 2000 Index was down by 3.67%. VIX jumped by 16.05% to 29.96. Greek PM referendum announcement roiled risk assets.

Of 336 companies reported so far, 248 topped analysts’ expectations in terms of EPS.

ISM Manufacturing Index declined to 50.8 vs consensus forecast of 52.

Asian indices were mixed on Wednesday. Shanghai stock indices added 0.6% as money markets calmed down. S&P/ASX 200 declined by 1.14%. Korean Kospi lost 0.61%. Nikkei was down by 2.21%.

In the US, ADP Employment for October, US Fed meeting results will be in focus today. 31 S&P 500 companies are to present quarterly earnings reports.
