OREANDA-NEWS. November 7, 2011. Transaero Airlines announces its operational results for the first nine months of 2011.  The company once again demonstrated the highest rates of growth among top-five Russian carriers.

For the period from January to September 2011:

Passenger turnover reached 24.87 billion RPK, 29.2% higher than in the first nine months of 2010

The total number of passengers carried amounted to 6,558,750 which is 29.5% more than in the same period previous year

Transaero transported a total of 35,782 tons of cargo, 30.2% more than in the first nine months of 2010

Ton-kilometers totaled 2.44 billion TKM, 29.1% more than in the same period previous year. 

In September 2011:

Revenue passenger-kilometers (RPK) totaled 3.394 billion, 33.6% more than in September 2010

Passenger volume constituted 978,891 passengers, 36.3% more than in the same month last year.

Commenting on the January – September results Transaero Airlines General Director Olga Pleshakova said: "I’m delighted that Transaero has reached the record results for the first nine months in the year of its 20th anniversary.  They indicate steady growth and stable development of the carrier's business during the period.  It’s quite important that figures increased on both international and domestic routes.  We go on with implementing our development strategy that allows us to grow faster than the market does”.
