OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2011. The Russian Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection Rospotrebnadzor will accredit the Chisinau-based national centre in charge of checking the quality of the Moldovan alcoholic beverages, which will make it possible to guarantee their quality and safety in consistency with the Russian requirements, a press release by Rospotrebnadzor has said.

The accreditation procedures will be completed in the near future. The issue was discussed during consultations held between the federal service and Moldovan experts interested in shipping wine to Russia. The consultations were held at the request of Moldovan business people. A list of enterprises which want their production to be checked before exporting it to Russia was presented at the meeting.

The Russian service backed this proposal, adding that the enterprises that will subject their production to an additional checkup will enhance their reputation of conscientious producers.

Moldova marketed over 18 million liters of alcoholic beverages in Russia in 10 months of 2011, according to data put out by the Russian Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection Rospotrebnadzor.
