OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2011. The Conference was organized and held by the Committee of young scientists and specialists of Gazprom VNIIGAZ with support from the Company management. Over 100 young scientists from 30 organizations of Gazprom Group took part in the Conference: Gazprom VNIIGAZ, Gazprom dobycha Urengoy, Gazprom dobycha Yamburg, Gazprom dobycha Astrakhan, Gazprom dobycha Orenburg, Gazprom dobycha Nadym, Gazprom dobycha shelf, Gazprom’s Central Oil Equipment Design Bureau (TsKBN) and delegates from Russian oil and gas institutions and partner companies.

The Conference was aimed at bringing young scientists and specialists together to deal with the burning scientific and industrial issues, share experience, knowledge and develop cooperation between gas industry organizations and educational institutions.

The Conference was opened on 13 October by Pavel Gennadyevich Tsybulsky, General Director of Gazprom VNIIGAZ.

Pavel Gennadyevich congratulated the participants on the conference opening and hoped that young specialists are not afraid to express their opinion. “Currently we are building the scientific base which will be further developed by you. Our Conference has become regular and it will help you to add something new into science and find your own way. I wish you to be initiative, have a fresh look, suggest new decisions to issues that the gas industry faces today. I wish you success! All roads are open to you”, with these words P. G. Tsybulsy addressed the young scientists.

The participants of the Conference were also welcomed by Vladimir Stanislavovich Yakushev, Academic Secretary of Gazprom VNIIGAZ. In his speech he said: “A fresh look on natural gas issues is not only welcomed today, but urgently required. There are many issues that have to be dealt with from another point of view. I wish you successful work, share your ideas!”

Andrey Borisovich Skrepnyuk, Deputy General Director for science, also greeted the young scientists and noted: “I am pleased that so many young people are interested in the development of new technologies in gas industry. You are young and promising. All projects, current and future, will not survive without your active support. I wish you successful and fruitful work”. 

Sergey Vladimirovich Anisimov, Deputy General Director for administrative issues, read out a letter from the head of the HR department of Gazprom to the Conference participants.

“In order to implement promising projects of Gazprom it is strategically important to provide the inflow of qualified and competent young scientists and engineers into science, take care of young scientists, keep continuity in Russian gas science and develop the academic school of the industry”, reads the letter.

“Do not be afraid to express your own opinion to authoritative scientists. I wish you success!”, Sergey Vladimirovich Anisimov said to young scientists.

After the Plenary meeting the Conference participants continued the discussion in three sessions: “Geology and gas fields development, drilling”; “Gas treatment, transportation, processing and usage”, “Industrial and ecological security. Energy effectiveness. Risk analysis. Economics”. The spokesmen presented recent scientific studies and developments performed by young scientists and specialists.

Round table discussion on the topic “Experience of organizations in motivating young specialists” was held on October 14 within the Conference framework. The Round table session looked at material and immaterial methods of encouraging young specialists. Prior attention was given to engaging young people into Trade-union activity, motivating young specialists to healthy lifestyle and social activity.

At the Conference closing session prizewinners were awarded the diplomas by Pavel Gennadyevich Tsybullsky, General Director of Gazprom VNIIGAZ.

Alexey Lopatin, Gazprom VNIIGAZ, for his report: “Optimization of UGS functioning on the basis of depleted oil field to reach maximum oil recovery” in the session “Geology and gas fields development, drilling”;

Alexei Vykhodtsev, TomskNIPIneft, for his report: “Technology of high-pressure transportation of multicomponent hydrocarbon gases” in the session “Gas treatment, transportation, processing and usage”;

Anton Raygorodsky, Yamalgazinvest, for his report: “Efficiency of secondary energy resources at compressor stations of trunk pipelines”.
