OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2011. Only for eight months of this year, more than 10 thousand units of machinery have been purchased by agricultural vendors. This is significantly higher than in the past two years for the same period of time, but completely does not supply need of agrarians. That is why the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food pays considerable attention to the development of domestic agricultural machinery. This was declared by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

"The agricultural industry prosperity directly depends on high-quality engineering. Using outdated technology is not conducive to high yield. Therefore, a priority for the Ministry is to provide agrarians with all necessary equipment, in particular small and medium agricultural industries. Thanks to these steps, labor productivity will be increased tenfold," Mykola Prysyazhnyuk has noted.

The domestic agricultural engineering is capable of annually producing to 300 units of combine harvesters and about five thousand tractors that it could not meet the needs of farmers. The partial cover of the deficit of high-tech machinery and equipment not produced in Ukraine is provided by imports.

"The state provides financial support to purchase of exceptional innovative samples of the best world manufacturers. The Ministry, together with leading scientific institutions have worked out a list of new agricultural machinery and equipment of foreign manufacture that are not produced in Ukraine for the purchase of agricultural enterprises in 2011 - 2013 years," Mykola Prysyazhnyuk has informed.

The draft state budget for 2012 has been provided the partial reimbursement of costs of agricultural machinery of domestic production.

For the purpose of establishment of actual need of agriculture in the required engineering, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, using the specially-developed methodology, is in charge of "the State register of technical equipment for the agro industrial complex of Ukraine."

"The Register allows to determine operatively a condition of the status of technical support and to establish, what types of machines should be put on production, and which prototype to select for this purpose for the period of 2-3 years," Mykola Prysyazhnyuk has noted.
