OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2011. Passenger car production in Russia rose 52.9% year on year to 1,260.0 thousand units in January-September 2011, according to ASM Holding analysts’ data. Of the total, output of domestic car models was up 26.7% to 510.1 thousand units, while foreign-brand car output rose 77.9% to 749.9 thousand units.

Passenger car sales were up 45.0% on the year to 1,834.2 thousand units in the first nine months of 2011. Domestic car sales rose from 401.0 thousand units to 480.4 thousand units (up 19.8%). Locally assembled foreign-brand car sales rose from 431.8 thousand units to 728.3 thousand units (up 68.7%). Imported new car sales were up 45.7% to 620.2 thousand units.
