OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2011. Recently, 2011 Baosteel Co.,Ltd. Heavy Plate Customer Forum is held in Xiamen. 79 heavy plate customers from across the nation including CPMC, Sinopec, CSSC, NACKS  discuss upstream and downstream win-win model in the steel low-profit era around the Baosteel heavy plate product quality, cost and supply chain. Baosteel Co.,Ltd. deputy general manager Li Yongxiang attends the meeting, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.  

Since this year, with customer needs as the goal, Baosteel Co.,Ltd. further promotes heavy plate manufacturing management optimization, technical marketing and business model improvement. The sales of variety steel, quenched and tempered boiler and vessel steel, nuclear power steel, quenched and tempered high-strength structural steel has some breakthrough. However, due to the release of heavy plate industry's new production capacity, supply and demand incongruity is expanded, raw material price remains high and downstream industry demand has fluctuations. All factors raise higher requirement on the quality and cost of Baosteel heavy plate products.

At the forum, based on the production and operation of their respective companies, ship plate, structural steel and energy steel plate customers offer comments and suggestions on Baosteel heavy plate products' quality and cost, and discuss upstream and downstream win-win model in the low-profit era .

In the next phase, Baosteel Co.,Ltd. will continue to implement the differentiation strategy and  promote cost improvement. It will carry out preliminary cooperation with customers on high-end heavy plate products or domestic alternative products, promote internal quality improvement and enhance the product bulk supply capacity stability; carry out performance studies; carry out specification development and technical support focusing on the customer needs.

Li Yongxiang says that Baosteel's progress is gained by way of support and help from the customers. He asks every department of Baosteel Co.,Ltd. to systemize customer views,  adjust the operation and organization mode according to the customer industry actuality, increase technical marketing and service efforts, select reasonable material for the customers, increase mutual cooperation and understanding, continuously improve  techniques and create value for customers.
