OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2011. The Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2011 International Exhibition was conducted at Sergi köşgi in Ashgabat. The high-level forum was organized by the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The opening ceremony brought together cabinet ministers, high-ranking officials of the Mejlis, ministries and departments, heads of public organizations and diplomatic mission accredited to Turkmenistan, oil and gas industry workers and journalists.


In his welcome address to forum participants President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said Turkmenistan aimed its policy at accelerated development of the oil and gas industry with such key priorities as advanced technologies and state-of-the-art equipment applied to effectively implement the tremendous potential of Turkmenistan as a world’s energy power. The Turkmen leader expressed belief that this forum would be a splendid opportunity to identify promising options for equal cooperation with those willing to partner with our country.

In the pavilions of the Sergi köşgi Exhibition Centre the companies which have been operating in our country for many years as well as the newcomers whose interest in cooperation with Turkmen specialists grows with every passing year presented a wide range of products and services in hydrocarbon exploration, extraction and transportation, deep-hole drilling, marine prospecting and construction of waterside systems required for the implementation of projects in the Caspian region, modernization of existing pipelines and construction of new ones, extension of oil and gas processing infrastructure. The expositions presented by the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Energy and Industry, the Turkmennebitgazgurlusyk State Concern, the Turkemngas State Concern and the Turkmennebit State Concern and other enterprises engaged in development of rich oil and gas deposits throughout the country.

The three-day forum became a unique opportunity for a number of foreign companies, including Turkmenistan’s partners such as Petronas Charigali (Malaysia), Dragon oil (UAE-UK), CNPC (China), RWE (Germany), Schlumberger (France), Itera Group of companies (Russia), Yarav (Belarus) to present their products and services and showcase their potential as well as to expand and increase the efficiency of business contacts and partnerships, and this fact would significantly facilitate integration of Turkmen fuel and energy sector to the global energy system.

On the first day participants of the Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2011 International Exhibition expressed a keen willingness to cooperate with Turkmenistan where the reliable regulatory framework encouraged international business activity and foreign investment.

Forum participants participated in a workshop. Its agenda items included legal regulation and taxation in oil and gas sector, specifics and advantages of the investment climate in Turkmenistan, vast opportunities and various formats of international mutually advantageous partnerships.
