OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2011. TRL Krosaki Refractories has installed a state-of-the-art new effluent treatment plant (ETP) of 50KL/day capacity inside its Belpahar works at an investment of Rs8 crore. The facility was inaugurated by Arup Kumar Chattopadhyay, managing director of the company, on November 18, 2011. Senior executives and other staff were present during the occasion. While inaugurating the facility, Mr Chattopadhyay stated that TRL Krosaki is committed to environment excellence for the benefit of ecosystems and the society. The new ETP will treat effluents and generate clean water, which will be further utilised in the plant for various purposes.

TRL Krosaki is a pioneer in environmental management among refractories companies in India. It has a plan to invest around Rs20 crore for environment management within three years (from 2011-12 to 2013-14). To keep the environment clean and green, TRL Krosaki has undertaken a number of jobs on a regular basis, such as hazardous waste management through engineering landfill, air pollution control through modern equipment such as PJ filters, electro-static precipitator, road sweepers, etc, treatment of wash water through settling tanks and filter beds in three locations, groundwater recharge and monitoring, water spraying on the roads and raw material yards for dust suppression, large scale plantation, etc. It has a modern environmental laboratory equipped with the latest equipment for environmental monitoring. It received the coveted Golden Peacock Environment Management Award last year, and its efforts have been lauded at the national and international levels.
