OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2011. Poland’s Krajowa Spolka Cukrowa plans to open a representative office in Belarus to explore the market and justify the expediency of building a sugar refining plant in Belarus.

Belgospishcheprom Vice Chairman Andrei Baranov released the news at the 17th international wholesale fair Prodexpo-2011.

The Polish company is set to explore the Belarusian market with an eye to building a fifth sugar refinery in Belarus in addition to four local plants (Gorodeya, Zhabinka, Skidel, Slootsk), which process 28,000 tonnes of sugar beet a day.

As previously reported, Belarus is in negotiations with the Polish company Krajowa Spolka Cukrowa on building a sugar refinery in Belarus. The investment project costs about 350-360 million euros.
