OREANDA-NEWS. November 23, 2011. Sakhalin Energy was awarded as one of the leaders of philanthropy activities in Russia and received the second award of the nationwide project for ranking the corporate philanthropy programmes efficiency – 2011 Corporate Philanthropy Research, reported the press-centre of Sakhalin Energy.

As part of the Research, individual projects were awarded in different fields. The Sakhalin Indigenous Minorities Development Plan has received the main award in nomination The Best Programme for Corporate Philanthropy Policy and Company’s Social Investments Principles. The partner of the award in this nomination is the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The plan itself is a tripartite programme implemented by Sakhalin Energy, the Sakhalin Oblast government and the Regional Council of the Authorised Representatives of Indigenous Minorities of Sakhalin Oblast.

Corporate Philanthropy Leaders is the annual all-Russian project for ranking the corporate philanthropy programmes efficiency and awarding the best programmes in a number of nominations. It is implemented by the Vedomosti business newspaper, PricewaterhouseCoopers and the nonprofit partnership of grant-making organisations Donor’s Forum.

Some 50 companies took part in the ranking project in 2011 and represented their projects implemented in 2010. Among them – leading representatives of the Russian business and the representation offices of international companies: Uralsib, ALKOA RUS, Deutsche Bank, MegaFon.

Sakhalin Energy’s success in the Corporate Philanthropy Leaders project is another evidence of commitment and activities of the company in the field of sustainable development, social and charitable activities.
