OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2011. The US exchanges were closed for the observance of the Thanksgiving Day. EU indices closed down as Portugal and Hungary were downgraded by the rating agencies. The results of the Euroleaders’ meeting were disappointing -  Merkel tough stance on ECB role had not changed.

Asian indices fell on Friday as credit woes strengthened. S&P/ASX 200 inched down by 1.48%, Hang Seng  lost 1.16%. Japanese Nikkei inched down by 0.06%. Korean Kospi lost 1.04%. Shanghai stock indices lost on average 0.7%.

The Italian bills auction, German CPI data, US New home sales for October will be in focus in the Eurozone today.

2 Bloomberg Europe Index companies are to present quarterly earnings reports.

The exchanges will work shortened session today due to a holiday.
