OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2011. The 7th Meeting of the Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Divisions of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States took place in Almaty on November 10 under the auspices of the Customs Control Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Heads of Law Enforcement Divisions of Customs Services of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Ukraine, and also representatives of Executive Committee of the CIS and customs administrations of Latvia and Estonia took part in the session work.

Participants of the Meeting summed up works on realization in 2011 of the Plan of joint actions of law enforcement (operational) divisions of  Customs  Services of the member states of the Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Divisions of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Order of practical interaction of law enforcement divisions of Customs Services of the CIS member states at carrying out of actions for revealing, prevention and counteraction of channels of contraband and other crimes in customs sphere, results of execution of interstate programs of the CIS in struggle against various manifestations of criminality and results of activity of the WCO Regional Intelligence Liaison Office for the Commonwealth of Independent States RILO-Moscow for 10 years of its existence.

As a result of the Meeting the Model regulations for special operation were approved, the course of carrying out and preliminary results of the specialized international operation “Sentinel-2011” on struggle against illegal circulation of narcotics, psychotropic substances, their precursors and strong substances were considered, the Regulations for constantly operating Meeting of heads of working groups of the CIS bodies, which carry out cooperation in the sphere of struggle against criminality, was coordinated.

Besides, during the Meeting separate bilateral negotiations were carried out, in the course of which interagency agreements with Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine were signed.

Mr. A. Vasiljev, Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, was elected as the new Chairman of the Committee.

The 8th Meeting of the Committee of Heads of Law Enforcement Divisions of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States is planned to hold in the first half of the year 2012.
