OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2011. Azerbaijan and Jordan are preparing to sign an education cooperation agreement.

The Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan informs that this issue was raised during the meeting education minister Misir Mardanov with deputy minister of education & scientific research Mustafa Al Advani of Jordan.

In the meeting Mardanov voiced an interest in developing cooperation with Jordan in the field of education and appraised high Jordan’s attention to the issues related to Azerbaijan. He noted that 22 Azerbaijani students were receiving education in Jordan and underlined the importance of expanding ties in the sphere of exchange of students, in particular the need of sending Azerbaijani students to Jordan to receive education in the area of ICT, medicine, etc.

Mr. Adwan, in turn, expressed his country’s readiness in development of cooperation with the Ministry of Education in the exchange of students and teachers.

Mardanov also proposed to conclude a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of education, holding of joint workshops and conferences, improvement of cooperation between universities, and stressed the need to review Jordan’s experience on introduction of ICT in secondary schools, realization of a twin school project between the two countries.
