OREANDA-NEWS. December 1, 2011. Boschung KAMA, located at the facilities of KAMAZ, launched production and delivery of snowplow trucks based on KAMAZ-6522 and KAMAZ-53605 chassis.

A contract of supply of special equipment was concluded with Kazan’s administration represented by SUE RT Tatleasing in September of 2011. KAMAZ’s experts performed a large amount of work to adapt Swiss municipal superstructures to KAMAZ chassis in accordance with the customer’s individual demands and Russia’s climatic conditions. In all, 51 snowplow trucks based on KAMAZ chassis and Boschung winter superstructures, 7 “Snowbooster” sweepers, and two “Pony” compact vehicles with summer and winter superstructures will have been delivered to the capital of Tatarstan by the end of the year. The new vehicles will enable to greatly improve both the quality and methods of road sweeping in winter and summer periods.

During the years of its functioning, Boschung has developed a lot of special-purpose machines for snow removal: snowplows, snow blowers and cutters, road sweepers (for removal of snow, mud and garbage). To date, Boschung offers a modern de-icing technology which involves mobile and stationary de-icing, and also an ice early-warning system.

This is a pilot contract, and the results of its implementation will show whether it is reasonable to establish Boschung KAMA Joint Venture or not. It should be recalled that an agreement of intent to establish the joint venture producing municipal vehicles on the territory of KAMAZ was signed by Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, and Marcel Boschung, a member of the Board of Directors of Boschung Holding AG, this spring in the presence of Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Ildar Khalikov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan. KAMAZ assumed the issues of production localization, which enabled to greatly lower an investment outlay on the project. Besides, a three-year agreement of intent was signed by the Executive Committee of Kazan, OJSC KAMAZ, and Boschung Holding AG to improve the quality of year-round maintenance of Kazan’s roads and make sure that it is up to the world standard with the use of equipment made at the joint venture of OJSC KAMAZ and Boschung Holding AG. Kazan’s utility providers hope that this time the new vehicles will help them to avoid situations which they had faced on the roads of the capital of the republic last winter.
