OREANDA-NEWS. December 1, 2011. In the past week the first stage of the annual Days of a Young Professional has been finished at OJSC Perm Engine Company. The organization of these activities had become a heart-warming tradition for the enterprise. The main purpose of the Days is to help young specialists to adapt and to turn them to the company traditions and values.

Today there are about 4 thousand young professionals aged up to 35 years at Perm Engine Company. Within 11 months of 2011 there came 83 more specialists to OJSC "PMZ" and technologically related companies. 47 of them have vocational secondary education (30 people have graduated from Perm Aviation College named after A. Shvetsov). 36 specialists have higher education (23 of them have graduated from Perm State Technical University). 37 people became workers of "PMZ", and 46 got positions of engineers and technicians, administrators, managers and supervisors.

From this year the Days of a Young Professional are being run within several stages. This allows the company to pay attention not just to the recent graduates, but to the young professionals, who had come to the enterprise in preceding years. The first stage accomplished was organized for newcomers, who got their jobs this year.

"PMZ" HR Department has prepared an intensive program for the new arrivals: an excursion to the assembly shops of PS-90A engines, visiting the company museum with its exhibition devoted to the history of Perm motor building, a training "Psychology of Interpersonal Interaction" and a workshop "Lean production basics". Taking part in business games during the training, the young professionals changed different social roles and trained their business communication skills. Participating in the workshop the newcomers learned the principles of the rational organization of production process, implemented at the company. Among other activities a meeting with the company management was organized.

Speaking to the young specialists, Deputy CEO - Production Director Ilya Fomin emphasized: "Our big collective you have come to is aimed at creating an aircraft engine of a new design level, which should be reliable and effective in operation on the aircrafts of a new generation. Thus you are expected to absorb all the knowledge required, the knowledge of a resistance of materials theory, mechanical engineering, metalworking and thermodynamics. You should understand that your successful career will not be build easily, you all have to be determined to reach your goals and to reinforce your professional competence".

The next stage of the Days of a Young Professional will be activities for the employees, who came to the company in 2010. They will take part in a training workshop "Planning of a career development of a young professional" and in a round table discussion "The role of young employees in the company development". During this debate the young professionals will have an opportunity to discuss some production problems with the management and offer their own approach to their decision.

The Days of a Young Professional are held in conformity with a special Youth policy approved at Perm Engine Company. This policy is intended to attract highly qualified young specialist, creating comfortable working environment for them and solving strategic tasks of Russian aircraft engine building.
