OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2011. Ukraine in the next three years is going to exercise the right of revision of tariff rates in the World Trade Organization. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Volodymyr Bandurov during the conference "Twenty years of transformation in the financial sector in Poland. Polish know-how to Ukraine".

Volodymyr Bandurov noted when Ukraine joined to the WTO it has committed to build a trade policy based on common definitions and rules and regulations, however, gained access to the opportunities arising from WTO membership.

According to him the Government is being received a petition from some industry associations and representatives of local business with a request to take appropriate measures to protect the internal market, including tariff review obligations under WTO agreements.

"We are exercising our right of WTO membership, which includes reserve the right on revision of tariff rates and sent a note to the WTO, so that in the next three years we were able to see our commitments on tariffs" - Volodymyr Bandurov said.
