OREANDA-NEWS. December 5, 2011. Anhui's capital city of Hefei is planning even bigger move on urban construction that will cost 41.8 billion yuan next year, which preliminarily includes 1,168 programs into the blueprint, according to a special conference presided over by Wu Cunrong, Secretary of Hefei Municipal Party Committee.

The projects cover eight categories, such as comprehensive transportation, environment management, landscaping, water, gas supply and heating, education, sports, urban infrastructure, construction of indemnificatory apartment and so on , says a proposal unveiled earlier.

Construction of comprehensive transport network lasting for years is still highlighted on the agenda for coming year, as key projects on railway, road, airport terminals and navigation channels will be accelerated in 2012, in a bid to enhance Hefei to a regional transport hub.

A series of transport constructions will be completed next year, among them are South High Speed Railway Station, Hefei-Bengbu Passenger Route, Xinqiao Airport, Chaohu Ship Lock, Yuxi Ship Lock and Zhongpai River Port. The first metro line connecting major city landmarks will be under full construction, alongside with widening projects on several artery roads.

Construction of public facilities is highlighted, as the proposal urges to strengthen public services in water, electricity, gas and heating supplies, and transportation, and expand the services to rural areas and industrial parks.

Housing program is another focus in the plan. Hefei sets a target of no less than 30,000 units of public rental apartments next year, 20 percent more than that required by the province. Besides, 44,531 indemnificatory apartments will be completed either through construction or shanty area rebuilding.
