OREANDA-NEWS. December 6, 2011. Gazpromneft Aero has put into operation a refuelling complex at the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny international airport.The first refuelling operation was made forPolet airlines AN-124 Ruslan aircraft.

The alternative refuelling complex at the Ulyanovsk-Vostochnyairport will also work with the city’s second airport, Ulyanovsk-Tsentralny.Gazpromneft Aero has established a subsidiary, Gazpromneft Aero Ulyanovsk, to provide fuel supplies to airlines operating from these airports.The complex will procure aviation fuel from the Omsk Refinery, one of Gazprom Neft’s own plants.

The creation of the refuelling complex involved modernising the tank farm and acquiring modern ATZ-18 airfield fuelling vehicles based on the VOLVO chassis. Gazpromneft Aero equipment used at the Ulyanovsk airport is fully compliant with Russian and international standards on aviation fuel supplies.

“Starting operations in Ulyanovsk represents the completion of the next stage of GazpromneftAero’s long-term development strategy, which involves the proactive expansion of the company’s refuelling stations in Russia and abroad. By launching new refuelling complex, the company enhances competition into the domestic aviation fuel market,” said Vladimir Egorov, General Director of Gazpromneft Aero.
