OREANDA-NEWS. December 8, 2011. DTEK Power Trade has become an associated member of the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET). As the only Ukrainian company to join EFET, DTEK Power Trade, is prepared to represent the national energy industry’s European potential.

On November 22nd, DTEK Power Trade LLC, signed an Associated Membership Agreement with the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET). EFET unites over a hundred of European electricity traders, investment companies, and representatives of the fuel and energy sector of Europe. Having examined all the aspects of the Ukrainian energy trade operation, the Board of the Federation, unanimously approved DTEK Power Trade’s application.

Peter Styles, Chairman of the EFET Electricity Committee, states: ‘We are happy to welcome DTEK as an associate member company in the European Federation of Energy Traders, (EFET). DTEK is the first Ukrainian company to demonstrate a commitment to our vision of sustainable, open and transparent energy markets across the whole of Europe. The approval of DTEK’s membership by the Board of EFET is a clear signal of the role our federation can play also in countries, which are still in the process of achieving liberalisation of their energy markets. We look forward to continuing a productive cooperation and the expansion of our presence in Ukraine.’
