OREANDA-NEWS. December 9, 2011. ITERA Oil and Gas Company and SHELF Marine Technologies Center, LLC (which Center represents an engineering division of the CASPIAN ENERGY Group) signed a contract to produce a feasibility study related to an engineering solution for optimal “type of foundation” – “type of a drilling rig” to drill an exploratory well at a marine block 21 in the Turkmen Sector of the Caspian Sea, in Astrakhan on November 30, 2011.

TsMT SHELF, LLC was a winner in a corresponding international tender announced by ITERA in October of 2011.

During the meeting, representatives of ITERA Oil and Gas Company also familiarized themselves with possibilities enterprises of the CASPIAN ENERGY Group have to build facilities of infrastructure for fields in the shelf zone within the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

Gennady Skidanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of ITERA Oil and Gas Company, stated during the meeting: “High engineering and production potential of the CASPIAN ENERGY Group, and geographical affinity of the Group’s shipyards to a potential field create favorable conditions for further cooperation and promising interaction in creating project elements for Block 21 in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea”.

ITERA Oil and Gas Company is one of the largest independent producers and sellers of natural gas in the Russian Federation. ITERA has been developing its natural gas production in the Yamalo-Nenetz Autonomous District since 1998. The Company has invested over USD  2 billion in development of the gas industry. ITERA was the first private company to commission gas fields in the North of Russia. ITERA has produced about 250 billion cu m of natural gas at the gas fields it had developed.
