OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2011. The conference of R&D directors within the Club of directors of research and development activity took place on the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO Campus. The conference was organized by the SKOLKOVO business-school with the support of Russian venture company and with the partnership of Agency of strategic initiatives, group of companies Insiders and the Open Innovation Inc. business-incubator.

It’s not a secret that today applying of innovations is the newest way of business conduction. Thus the decision making right as well as the responsibility for innovations in creating new products, business-processes optimization and new markets and branches formation in innovative businesses are to be taken by R&D directors. They have to be able to interact efficiently with other companies, to use help of development institutions and to build mutual relationships with the institutions of higher education. In Russia the work of R&D directors is even more complicated as the old research institution system is destroyed, and new bonds in the sphere of technologies haven’t been built yet. "Today one of the core problems is that producers don’t really understand the consumers’ needs. A strategic programme of research will be elaborated; within it perspectives of market development and perspectives of definite technologies’ development will be evaluated. One of the tasks of this programme is to provide efficient communication among all process participants. For this sake meetings and conferences of participants are held regularly", - said Artem Shadrin, Head of Department strategic Program Management and Budgeting Department of the Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation. 

The key purpose of the conference was the exchange of practical experience between Russian and foreign companies concerning mechanisms and methods of the corporate innovation management. During the first part of the event cases of the leading technological companies were presented, and experts of the development institutes, governmental bodies and educational institutions commented on them. The second part was dedicated to the Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation representative’s report on formation of innovation environment in Russia. In the end a special meeting of the Club of R&D directors was held; the topic of the meeting was “Strategies of innovative developments of private business and state corporations: theory and practice. Part I: monitoring of plans of innovative development”.

As the result of the event it was planned to create a working group on open innovations and work out certain recommendations on the improvement of corporate innovation environment in the Russian Federation.

Among the conference participants the largest Russian companies with state participation representatives, private business representatives working in an active competitive environment, Ministries’ and Departments’ representatives responsible for innovative development issues, research institutes and experts institutes in the innovation management field were to be seen.

In parallel with the conference the exhibition-contest “Roadmap 2011” on the best visualization of a corporation development roadmap was held.
