OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2011. On November 6-13 the SKOLKOVO EMBA students visited China. This time the international module was organized a little bit differently than the previous ones. Firstly, two classes (EMBS-3 and EMBA-4) took part in it at the same time.  Secondly, the students had a chance to choose which of the BRIC countries to visit – Brazil, India or China.

27 people have made up their mind for China. An interesting programme developed by HCD Global, China’s innovative education group under the guidance Julia Li was awaiting the students. Seven days, three cities, seventeen companies!

The schedule was built so that during the week of staying in the country the group could have a chance to get to know peculiarities of the Chinese culture, meet top-managers of large local and international companies and observe on real cases opportunities of various business branches. Moreover, meetings with government representatives took place as well, which made it possible to understand better the process of interaction between business and state.

In Shanghai the SKOLKOVO group visited nine companies such as Lianhua Group, leading retail chain in China; China Telecom, main telecom company; Huiyuan Juice Group, leading domestic juice and beverage producer, during this meeting students had a chance to see the factory and the production process; Metersbonwe, China’s legendary casual wear fashion company; world known Lenovo and others.

In Hangzhou EMBAs visited XiZi Elevator Group, large elevator producer, Cybernaut Cap Management, large investment fund that invests in start-up companies and is supported by the Chinese government and Alibaba, world largest e-business platform.

In Suzhou meetings took place in Suzhou Venture Group, China No. 1 Investment Fund group, Snail Games, China’s number one 3D online game producer and others. Moreover students met with the representatives of China-Singapore Government Industrial Park which includes innovative companies, investment funds and learning institutions.

The broad business programme was added by fascinating cultural events. Various excursions, tea ceremonies, acquaintance with religious and philosophic China, all these and even more made the SKOLKOVO Executive MBA students appreciate the country’s cultural spirit. The highlight of the best moments was The West Lake Impression, performance on the water; everybody notes this famous national musical.
