OREANDA-NEWS. December 14, 2011. Belarus has seen the consumer price index grow 6.3% over the first 15 days of November to total 100.6% since early this year, the National Statistics Committee told reporters.

The largest increase in retail prices has been registered with alcohol beverages (15.2%), canned meat (9%), butter (7.2%), milk and dairy products (6.7%), fruits, tinned fish, canned fruits and vegetables, cornflakes, eggs, wheat flour, confectionery goods, smokes sausages (5-6%), bread and bakery goods, salted herring, soft beverages (3-4%), knitwear garments (4.7%), hosiery (4.4%), petrol (3,5%), kitchen dishes (3.2%), long-distance railway tickets (67.1%), suburban motorway transport (63.6%), city transport fares (35.4%), housing and utility services (13.5%), healthcare services (7.5%), household services (6%), communication services (4.9%).

Belarus’ inflation grew 9.9% in 2010 (10.1% in 2009). The forecast for 2011 stands at 7.5%-8.5%. On second thought, the government reconsidered its forecast upgrading the figure to 118%.
