Romon Lokhov, First Deputy CEO at Otkritie Financial Corporation, commented:

“All efforts are focused on Moscow becoming an international financial centre. In order for this transition to take place, a number of issues need to be addressed, including improved regulation, legal security and better infrastructure. Once progress is made, Russia's capital will no longer be an emerging market, but an emerged one - hopefully within the next two to three years. Furthermore, with recent plans revealed for Russia to join the World Trade Organisation coupled with Otkritie’s top position on the LSE IOB in terms of trading turnover and market share, the country seems to be on track to achieve this ambitious goal.”
