OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2011. Conference hall of Swisshotel Krasnye Holmy hosted the Tourist Routes. Spring – Summer 2012 tourism forum. The event is traditionally held twice a year aiming to develop partnership ties between tour operators and airlines in terms of launching and operating tourist carriage through Domodedovo Airport. This year the forum welcomed representatives of 28 airlines, 21 tour operator companies, 16 mass media as well as national tourism representative offices of Philippines and Oman.

The forum was opened by Vladimir Kamynin, Marketing Director, who reported on the main trends of tourism market in Russia. Four key factors were emphasized which had been affecting tourist industry from March to November 2011, they are as follows: inundation in Thailand, political crisis in Egypt, riots in Greece, including the genesis of the European economic crisis.

"Our main aim is ensuring stable progress in changing environment, said Vladimir Kamynin. It can be reached if new market opportunities are being taken, seasonal fluctuations are being leveled, new passenger preferences are being shaped".

According to Vladimir Kamynin, among Russian destinations Irkutsk could accumulate interest for being conveniently located 1 hour away from Baikal lake, which is considered to be the pearl of Siberia. The passenger traffic on this route in the total passenger traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport is inconsiderable and makes 1% on the average, however the interest to this destination deepens. As a result since May 2011 the list of airlines which carry out flights on MoscowIrkutsk route from Domodedovo airport has been joined by one more airline. Currently 3 air carriers offer flights to the heart of Eastern Siberia such as S7, Ural Airlines and IrAero.

The forum continued hosting 15min panel table meetings for airline representatives and tour operators. Cooperation expansion and newly launched destinations for spring – summer season 2012 will be their outcome.
