OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2011. A representative delegation from Moscow including Aleksandr Shevchenko, Chief of RF MoD`s General Tank-Automotive Directorate, Dmitry Besedin, Division Head of RF EMERCOM’s Logistics Department, and Oleg Gulyaev, Director General of OAO Spetsremont, visited KAMAZ on December 27.

The main purpose of their visit was to carry on negotiations on long-term cooperation with KAMAZ. The guests were welcomed and accompanied by Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ, Yury Klochkov, First Deputy Director General – CEO, and other top managers of the company.

The guests visited Remdiesel where they were shown diagnostic equipment, and also a cab assembly shop and a mother assembly conveyor of the Automobile Plant. The representatives of the military circles saw vehicles, including Typhoon vehicles specially designed for the Russian army, in the Research and Development Center of KAMAZ (R&D Center). The members of the delegation were also shown the production facilities of the Engine Plant and CUMMINS KAMA Joint Venture.

When the guests visited the Repair and Instrument Plant, they participated in a pleasant event: 14 KAMAZ workers were awarded the medal “For Strengthening of Companionship in Arms”. The participants of the “Platform” project were awarded by Russia’s MoD for their great personal contribution to the fulfillment of tasks assigned to the Armed Forces and for their merits in the sphere of the development of brand-new samples of military vehicles for the army. Most of the awardees are employees of the R&D Center, KAMAZ-Metallurgy OJSC, the Purchasing and Logistics Department, and the Repair and Instrument Plant.

The results of the execution of the state order received by KAMAZ from the Ministry of Defence in 2011 were summed up at a conference held in the general directorate of OJSC KAMAZ later. Besides, the parties discussed plans of their cooperation for 2012 and possibilities of the development of technical supervision of military, armored vehicles and special vehicles in OJSC KAMAZ’s automobile centers.
