OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2011. The largest subsidiary of SUN InBev brewing company took part in the first ecological forum of Omsk region. Results of the realized programs for increasing energy efficiency and efficient use of resources were presented at the forum.

According to the results of projects implemented in 2009-2011, Omsk subsidiary decreased its carbon footprint by 10%, increased energy efficiency by 9%, decreased gas consumption by 20% and water consumption by 17%. In particular, these results were taken into consideration for the choice of the most efficient enterprise of Anheuser-Busch InBev in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2011, SUN InBev Omsk subsidiary was named the most efficient enterprise. In addition, this facility became the second most efficient SUN InBev facility in the world.

The forum was held by the government of Omsk region and the ministry of natural resources and ecology. Heads of public authorities, local self-government, heads of the largest industrial organizations, representatives of public environmental organizations and movements, ecologists took part in it.

SUN InBev, Russian subdivision of the world brewing leader Anheuser-Busch InBev, within the framework of its corporate philosophy “Better World” implements a number of initiatives and projects in all the company subsidiaries in Russia aimed at decreasing negative influence on environment, thereby realizing its dream “ to be The Best Beer Company in a Better World”.

At the forum, Omsk facility demonstrated successful implementation of the best global practices of the use of energy and resources, including: implementation of the "Water Master" program (initiative for economy and elimination of water losses in production processes); days of power savings (a conscious daily suspension of production for the purpose of personnel training in power saving technologies and management production methods); implementation of standards of the world class enterprise, ecological initiatives of employees, including costs cutting and increase of environmental friendliness.

In addition, Omsk facility implements separate collection of production and office waste (plastic, paper, glass, aluminum cans, office equipment, etc.) for recycling. Greenpeace methodical developments are used in "Green office" program. As a result the level of own waste processing at the enterprise increased up to 96.6 %.

The facility annually holds ecological events within the framework of the World Environment Day. In particular, the company implements the long-term social program "We will live here!" aimed at territory improvement. Subsidiary employees organized ecological actions for support of a tree park, a square foundation on the territory of a park.

Anheuser-Busch InBev is working on implementation of the best global practices and innovative technologies in environment protection at the company facilities in order “to be The Best Beer Company in a Better World”.
