OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2011. The government of Chuzhou, Anhui province and a Jiangsu-based joint venture signed an agreement Tuesday to jointly build a modern industrial park in Chuzhou.

According to the agreement, China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group Co., a company co-established by the governments of China and Singapore, will play a major role in building in Chuzhou a 36-square-kilometer modern industrial park integrating working and living facilities, following its successful founding of Suzhou Industrial Park in Jiangsu province in 1994. The Chuzhou industrial park is expected to attract a total investment of 130 billion yuan (USD 20.3 billion) in the region.

The move will be crucial and exemplary to the exploration of ways of co-building industrial parks and the economic transformation, Zhan Xialai, executive vice governor of Anhui said in a speech at the signing ceremony.

The first stage of the project will include a hi-tech industrial park, a modern service industrial park and a creative culture park, covering a total area of 12 square kilometres.
