OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2011. An Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of OAO AKME Engineering was held to consider termination of the Board of Directors authority and election of the new board.

Upon discussion, the following persons were elected as members of OAO AKME Engineering Board of Directors:

Oleg Deripaska – President of En+ Group;

Dmitry Zverev – Director of OAO Afrikantov Experimental Design Bureau for Mechanical Engineering;

AlexeyKuznetsov– executive director of En+ Group;

VyacheslavPershukov– Deputy General Director of SC Rosatom;

Vladimir Petrochenko – CEO of OAO AKME Engineering;

Vladimir Troyanov – Director of Scientific Research Institute of Atomic Reactors.

ElectionoftheChairmanoftheboardofdirectorswillbeconsidered at the first meeting of the new Board before the end of 2011. Since the establishment of the company, Oleg Deripaska was invariably elected Chairman.

OAO AKME Engineering (Nuclear Facilities forSmall and Medium Power Businesses) is a joint public-private partnership established equally by the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom and Russia’s largest private power company EuroSibEnergo (owned by En+ Group), from November 2011 – OAO Irkutskenergo. Thecompanywasestablishedin2009 for development and commercial implementation of nuclear facilities based on new-generation fast-neutron reactor with the capacity of 100 MW with lead-bismuth (liquid metal) coolant (SVBR-100).

SVBR-100 project:

Project for design and construction of a pilot power unit with SVBR-100 reactor facility is implemented by public-private partnership OAO AKME Engineering within the framework of the federal target programme “Nuclear power technologies of the new generation for the period of 2010 to 2015 and up to 2020”. It is a project of the Committee for modernization and technological development of Russia’s economy under the President of Russia within the framework of “New technological platform: closed nuclear fuel cycle and fast-neutron reactors” branch. Construction of experimental operating power unit with SVBR-100 reactor facility is scheduled for 2013-2017, with its actual and energy-generating launch in 2H 2017. The pilot power unit istobecomeaprototypeof mass-produced nuclear facilities for regional and local power systems.
