OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2011. Transaero Airlines, Russia's second largest airline, has recently acquired two Boeing 777-300s becoming the first and only carrier in the region operating this type of aircraft. Both jetliners have been received from Singapore Airlines.

Following passengers' feedback from different sources including Transaero's official communities on Facebook and Twitter the airline fully refurbished the aircraft interiors with brand-new Alcantara material covered seats, Lumexis IFE, overhead lockers, carpets, etc. The aircraft have total of 373 seats in four-class configuration: Imperial (4), business (14), premium economy (133) and tourist economy (222).

The new aircraft are incorporated into operations on Transaero's domestic and international routes, including flights from Moscow to Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Tel-Aviv and Dubai. Later the jetliners will be operated on routes to the USA.

The acquisition is a part of Transaero's ongoing fleet development and modernization program that will see more Boeing 777-300s, Boeing 747-400s and Boeing 737-800s added to the fleet in the coming months as well as refurbishing of a larger number of aircraft. The carrier has also phased out all its classic Boeing 747-200s.
